The new Tesla Cybertruck is in the news again, just days after it was shown at Tesla’s Cyber Rodeo. That’s because it’s got a few updates, and while a few of them are top-notch, others may leave you confused. Whether you love or hate the Tesla Cybertruck, its latest mods may make you change your mind about it.
5. The updated Tesla truck lacks door handles

It might seem surprising that a car doesn’t have door handles – how else are you supposed to get in? However, that should probably be expected from the Tesla Cybertruck. Given that the Tesla truck does indeed look like a spacecraft, the fact that it will unlock itself when you’re close to it is probably par for the course — especially if you’re an extraterrestrial.
4. The Cybertruck appears to have a roll bar

Now, it may be part of the setup while testing a Tesla Cybertruck, but MotorTrend notes that in the Cyber Rodeo video, the menu bar is clearly visible when the Cybertruck door is open. MotorTrend writes, “Ideally, this is a temporary setup to protect development drivers as they work on the Cybertruck’s stability and traction control systems. However, part of us think that could be a permanent, ugly addition to improving roof-crash strength considering the rake in Column A”.
3. Tires changed

Originally, the Tesla Cybertruck had huge tires that looked like something befitting the type of sci-fi spacecraft like a Tesla truck. Now, however, the tires look remarkably tame, like the tires you’d see in any other big truck. These new tires are made by Goodyear and are specific to the Cybertruck, which you can see from the tread. The rating also appears on Tesla truck tires: 315/60R20 and E.
2. Prominent Tesla yoke steering wheel

Well, we all knew that a close-up steering wheel was a must-have on a Tesla Cybertruck — Elon Musk loves this thing, after all. However, the original 2019 Cybertruck had a regular steering wheel, so the look of the yoke steering wheel on the Cyber Rodeo Tesla truck was a (likely unwelcome) change. The steering wheel will likely make it to the final production of the Cybertruck.
1. The windshield wiper is actually a single blade

The Tesla Cybertruck windshield wiper has been the talk of the town lately, so it wasn’t surprising to see it on a prototype Cyber Rodeo Cybertruck. There’s a rested, single blade long, with a massive front visor to handle. Or maybe it’s the giant windshield wiper. Whatever it is, the Tesla Cybertruck windshield wiper is as unique as the Cybertruck itself.
The Tesla truck isn’t far from production — well, presumably, it’s not too far from production. This means that the version of Cybertruck we saw on the Cyber Rodeo will likely be similar to the version we get when (well, if) the Tesla Cybertruck becomes a reality. With a release date promised sometime in 2023, we didn’t have long before we saw what a production Tesla Cybertruck would really look like.
