When you think of Amazon, you can probably assume that the company primarily focuses on its online storefront and various smart home products. But there’s a lot more that goes into the Amazon ecosystem, and that includes making sure your files are backed up. The company already has two different apps on the Play Store that you can use to keep all your important files from getting lost.
Use Amazon Drive to backup photos and files from your Android phone
If you have an Amazon account, you already own an Amazon Drive account, even if you don’t know it. By default, Amazon provides up to 5GB of free storage that you can use with Amazon Drive and Photos. However, there are also additional options if you need more than the built-in storage, which makes this a great alternative to some of the best cloud storage solutions. If you’re interested in a test drive, here’s how to use Amazon Drive to back up your photos and files.
1. Open a file Amazon Drive The app on your phone.
2. Log in to the app with your Amazon account information.
3. Press Three vertical points in the upper right corner.
4. Press Download.
5. Select one of the following options: Photo shootAnd the take a videoAnd the filesor Add photos and videos.
6. When prompted, tap Allow To give Amazon Drive access to your files.
7. Select files that you want to download.
8. Press Download button in the lower right corner.
We recommend leaving the Amazon Drive app open while uploading files. Sometimes Android can “kill” apps running in the background and you definitely don’t want that to happen in the middle of a load.
Automatically upload photos and videos to Amazon Photos
Amazon Drive isn’t the only cloud storage solution Amazon offers, as there’s also an Amazon Photos app. This is a little different from the Drive app, where you won’t be able to upload documents. But the added advantage is that you can sync the Amazon Photos app with your Fire TV or Echo and see a gallery of your photos instead of the stored photos Amazon provides.
1. Open a file amazon pics The app on your phone.
2. Log in to the app with your Amazon account information.
3. Press Yes button to start.
4. When prompted, tap Allow A button to provide the app with access to your photos and videos.
5. In the bottom toolbar, click more button.
6. Press Settings.
7. Select Autosave near the top of the page.
8. Press the switches next to Pictures And the Videos.
From this settings panel, you can also adjust different settings for “Backup Time”. This includes things like backing up only when you’re connected to a charger, and toggling whether you want to use cellular data to back up items instead of just relying on a Wi-Fi connection.
Don’t forget to backup everything
No matter what cloud storage solution you end up using, be it Amazon Drive or something else, we highly recommend backing up your devices whenever possible. By doing this, you will never have to worry about losing those precious photos and videos for the moments that you won’t get back.
There is also the added benefit of being able to access those backed up files from just about anywhere. This includes accessing and organizing your photos, videos, and other files from the web, or when you finally get a new phone.
Amazon Drive
If you have an Amazon account, you already have access to Amazon Drive. This is an alternative cloud storage solution that syncs with your Amazon account and can be accessed from virtually anywhere.
