It’s an opportunity for the American manufacturer to honor its models and customers while rewarding them with cars with an extreme concept. This year will be no exception to the rule, with six concepts and a 2.0 version of the 100% electric Wrangler Magneto.
In 2021, Jeep unveiled a concept called Magneto, which is 100% electric and based on the three-door Wrangler convertible.
Jeep is doing it again, with a Magneto 2.0 iteration in 2022. Compared to the initial concept, looks don’t change but performance takes a leap forward.

It retains its own battery pack, which is divided into four elements for better weight distribution, and a fixed capacity of 70 kWh.
This pushes its 625 horsepower and torque to 850 lb-ft. That’s more than triple what it was last year.
The new settings maintain maximum electric current for 10 seconds and the result is acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in two seconds, according to the company.

“The Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 is optimized – literally – to create an off-road vehicle that dominates the terrain and takes you off the beaten path,” the company said in a press release.
Jeep said the Magneto 2.0 is only in the lab, and that a future electric Wrangler, even if it took in a few elements here and there, would be very different.
Jeep last month revealed its plans to sell its first all-battery electric vehicle in early 2023. The automaker will also market an all-terrain SUV starting in the beginning of 2024.
Jeep has not provided any details about these vehicles.
The news comes as Jeep has announced that it will stop marketing heat engines. It aims to put the brand on an environmentally viable path. However, combustion engines remain in the program in hybrid versions.
