Direct analysis of Manchester City and Liverpool! – Written by Joe Prince Wright in the Federation

coincidence! Salah has now taken over this game. He moved it to Jota but his shot was saved by Ederson. Everything Liverpool. City did not start in the second half.

Goal! What a start to the second half. Sadio Mane made it 2-2 in the first minute. Mohamed Salah in turn brilliantly and pass for the decisive passes and Mane criticizes the net. It’s very easy for Liverpool to break into City there. what. a. Game.

half time: Manchester City 2-1 Liverpool – What an amazing first half. City advanced through De Bruyne, then Jota equalized after a classy move. However, City fared much better as half wore it, and Gabriel Jesus was well deservedly ahead. Wonderful. Sometimes the big games don’t deliver good results but this game does. great moment. We get another 45 minutes of this!? Time to refresh the popcorn, folks…

Aymeric Laporte with one of the best last-ditch interventions you’ll ever see for Diogo Jota’s denial. How did he do this!? It all came from a moment of hesitation from Rodri, as Liverpool remain dangerous in the break.

What a game. You cannot take your eyes off this. You just can’t. Every time I look down to type this into the press box, I have to go back up. It’s a mess.

Goal! What a ball from Joao Cancelo, and Jesus stays on the side to take advantage of the goal at the back post. 2-1 to Manchester City! They deserve this leadership. They were excellent. Especially Cancelo.

close! Joao Cancelo’s low shot hits Nick and hits the post from outside. City are thrilled to play directly behind Alexander-Arnold and Robertson.

Wide! Joao Cancelo played at the top and brilliantly put the ball to Kevin De Bruyne, but his shot hits the post from the outside.

The city is moving through the gears here while a ball is being hit but John Stones can’t get to the end of it. Liverpool is looking for a real threat in the second half.

Ederson, under real pressure, almost walked the ball into his own net. Jota was too close to being distracted. Huge sighs of relief are here among home fans.

Goal! 1-1! Jota finished the match after a beautiful cross from Robertson was brilliantly turned away by Alexander Arnold. What a start. This massive game is delivered early!

Goal! 1-0! Manchester City! Kevin De Bruyne’s shot deflected sharply from Joel Matip and shot off the far post. The city is spread out. What a start to this game.

save! Alisson does a brilliant job at denying Raheem Sterling, who was clean six yards away, but the Liverpool goalkeeper stood tall to deny him.

Gabriel Jesus started on the right side, Raheem Sterling through the middle and Phil Foden on the left. it’s interesting. It appears that Sterling is focused on Joel Matip.

Starting: We are now in a very huge game.

Will Raheem Sterling be the difference? Our crew breaks it down.

The amazing TV crew is here for this massive game, and so is Danny Cardenas. He flew in from Washington, D.C. all night and he’s excited.

The city on the outside is nice and early to warm up. A wave of applause from the home fans. Tension hangs in the air.

The team news is interesting here… Liverpool go with Jota, Mane and Salah in the lead. This was his top three all season. Manchester City go with Raheem Sterling, Foden and De Bruyne at the top. Grealish and Mahrez off the bench.

Welcome to Al Ittihad Stadium! A building with a great atmosphere.

Manchester City team news, injuries and squad

Robin Dias stayed out of position so John Stones and Aymeric Laporte started in the center of defence. Pep Guardiola Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling start attacking.

Liverpool team news, injuries and squad

Klopp has no injury issues at all and was able to rotate his side to win the Champions League at Benfica in the middle of the week. Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip return to the starting line-up as Jota, Mane and Salah start attacking.

Manchester City are at the top of the Premier League table, but are only one point ahead of Liverpool with eight games of the season. Pep Guardiola’s champions appeared to be fleeing the title this season, but they have faltered a bit in recent weeks, and Liverpool’s thrilling form has determined this potential title. The big question for Guardiola is how much will the absence of Ruben Dias affect his team in this confrontation, as well as who will he actually pick to start in midfield and attack? It’s awash with options in those areas, and only Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden seem to be fools-proofed beginners at the moment. It’s time for Pep Guardiola to prove, once again, how good he is.

As for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, they are flying for sure. They will face Manchester City at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals next weekend, in addition to facing City in the Champions League final as well, and Klopp is enjoying these challenges against Pep. In fact, there is a lot of respect between these two coaches and their teams are made up completely differently with their style of play, but they are both great. Liverpool had won 10 Premier League games prior to this encounter and had racked up wins in recent weeks to drag themselves back into the title conversation. Can Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane deliver one of their epic performances? They will have to do that if Liverpool are to rise above City and take the lead in the title race before the last month or so of the season.
