The first week of opening American Football League The season has its first W in the books.

Football fans got their first look at the new helmet cam as Stallions quarterback DeMarquis Gates came in with the first sack of the season, sending Perez back seven yards.
McGough’s deep pass in the middle was intercepted by Luani, and in this way, it was the first takeaway of the season on the books.
The generals are taking the lead
Perez found a tight end for Brydon Bowman to score 13 yards to regain the lead in the second quarter.

Birmingham’s defense came with big play before the first half, with Stallions linebacker Scooby Wright taking the ball out of Perez’s hands as the QB Generals tried to scramble for the first goal.

After the stallions’ safety, Nate Holly came up with confusion, followed by a heavy blow on Generals QB De’Andre Johnson, who checked in on Perez.
The generals carried a 14-7 lead at the end of the first half.
Johnson climbed halfway to the 25-yard line at Birmingham, but the Generals couldn’t take advantage of the big catch, and a seven-point game remained in the middle of the third quarter.

Next, Stallions running back CJ Marable found the finish zone in a quick 3-yard dash until things in 14 headed into the final frame.

The Generals took the lead 24-21 with less than two minutes to play after nailing a 47-yard field goal.
But the leadership of the generals did not last long.
With 29 seconds left, Smith found the end zone, capping a 10-play engine with a score to give the stallions a 28-24 advantage they held onto to secure the win.
