Is Freevee worth your time?
Given the high cost of popular streaming services, Amazon is hoping to come to Freevee because it costs nothing. Of course, there are business interruptions that can’t be skipped, but that’s a small price to avoid the monthly service fee.
However, what attracts people to any streaming service is its content. As mentioned, there are a large number of movies and TV shows on the service. But when it comes to quality, except for a limited number of popular movies, you’ll mostly find ordinary stuff or obscure titles. The prices for the selection of TV shows are a little better, and the service has a lot more programs that you might recognize because they were popular when they were on the air.
However, since everyone has a different taste in content, we suggest judging the choice for yourself.
Reasonable business interruptions. And depending on the length of the content, you can get from zero to seven and eight ads of varying duration. But Freevee doesn’t burden your streaming experience with ads.
Overall, Freevee is a convenient option for video streaming if you don’t want to get another subscription. Of course, you will not get the same quality of content or variety as paid services. But you can’t hope for that without paying anything. On top of that, you get access to Freevee’s full catalog – unlike some other free-tier streaming services, like Peacock, which only give you a portion of their catalog. With Freevee, your access isn’t limited to a few episodes of a TV show or a limited selection of movies.
We tested Amazon Freevee in its IMDB TV form shortly before the rebranding. But even after IMDB TV switches to Freevee, you will be able to access the same content and features but with a different name. However, Amazon plans to grow its list of Freevee assets by 70% in 2022.
How do you access Freevee?
Freevee is available through the Amazon website, or you can access it through its apps for iOS, Android, Fire TV, Android TV, PlayStation, Roku, Samsung Smart TV, and other platforms. In addition, you can watch Freevee channel as part of the Amazon Prime Video app on different platforms.
You will need an Amazon account to access the service. But if you don’t want to create an Amazon account, you can also use your Apple, Google, or IMDB account to sign in.
Freevee is an interesting choice for wire cutters. While if you frequently consume video content, its library may not be enough to satiate your appetite, but it can certainly act as a supplement to your existing premium subscriptions. On top of that, it’s easy to access, and you don’t have to spend a dime.
